WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manage, Plan and Organize all worldwide tax initiatives, including, but not limited to: tax compliance, planning and the implementation of tax and business optimization strategies for federal, international, and state and local tax filings that comply with tax laws in the various jurisdictions that the Company operates
  • Manage all taxes (income, sales, property) for over 15 legal entities across 3 countries (USA, Canada, China)
  • Initiate all required tax payments for income tax, sales tax, property tax
  • Initiate and drive tax reduction efforts on a global basis by assessing the Company’s global strategies and creating tax advantages
  • Primary liaison with external tax consultants and accounting firms for tax provisions, tax returns and special tax projects;
  • Create and enforce policies and procedures for state and provincial sales tax compliance, including tax exempt transaction support and documentation
  • Lead, or assist with, the assessment and direction of tax planning associated with M&A activity
  • Responsible for all policy and procedures for property tax compliance
  • Responsible for system maintenance for 3 tax systems – Sabrix, Oracle EB Tax, OneSource Tax Return Software
  • Responsible for managing all tax audits including, US and Canadian federal income tax audits, state income tax audits (for 44 states), state sales tax audits (typically between 5 and 10 per year); this includes interfacing with external tax examiners and internal resources in Price Administration Department
  • Regularly interact with and advise senior management regarding tax benefits and risks and the interrelationship between operational decisions
  • Responsible for preparation and filing of all business license returns for all states in which the company operates and/or sells products (284 returns per year)
  • Manage the tax rates and tax exception process in the Source to Pay system
  • Responsible for filing a variety of tax returns.
  • Oversee the global income tax provision, including permanent and temporary differences, valuation allowances, and other tax attributes, while managing the effective tax rate
  • Quarterly and annual preparation of global income tax provision and estimates throughout the year
  • Build and strengthen relationships with other individuals and groups within the Company to ensure the Tax Department is effectively serving our business partners
  • Assist finance department in budgeting for property tax
  • Assist finance department in reconciling all tax payable and receivable general ledger accounts
  • Ensure all tax process control documentation, tax policies and procedures, and disclosure controls are effective, maintained, and updated in accordance with all legal requirements and Company standards
  • Manage tax department employees – tax managers, senior tax analysts, tax analysts
  • Assist with special projects as necessary
  • Attract, hire, retain, organize, develop, manage, recognize and reward a motivated workforce capable of achieving short- and long-range business objectives within company policies and procedures

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:

  • 20+ years of tax experience comprised of both Big 4 Public Accounting and with large international company;
  • preferred experience with an SEC public company
  • Experience in a company with $5 billion in revenue or more
  • International tax experience
  • Experience in an tax department for an International company
  • B.A./B.S. in Accounting or Masters in Accounting
  • CPA Required
  • Strong computer skills and ability to manipulate large amounts of data electronically
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Oracle General ledger experience
  • Experience in extracting general ledger data from Oracle
  • OneSource tax software experience preferred
  • BNA fixed asset software experience preferred
  • RIA tax research experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • US GAAP accounting knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with executive members of management
  • Ability to multitask and deliver timely/accurate financial data
