WHERE THIS POSITION IS LOCATED:

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Description: Update or edit documentation as required:
    • SOPs
    • SOSs
    • Machine specifications
    • Preventive Maintenance (PMs)
    • Lock Out/Tag Out
    • MSDS
    • Spare parts
  • Lead, drive and track completion of documentation
  • Participate in documentation review meetings
  • Ensure standard documentation and drawings are approved and entered into the existing system
  • Review received drawings and documentation for accuracy and alignment with the plant drawing standards

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • This is a Non-Exempt level position*

Required skills:

  • Proficiency in Word & Excel
  • Self-starter, results/detail oriented
  • Knowledge of documentation systems and processes

Desired Skills

  • Familiar with Solidworks and drawing standards
  • Experience with working with Manufacturing Facility or plant

Education/Experience:

  • AAS in related field with 3+ years technical writing experience in manufacturing setting or equivalent writing experience or HS Diploma/DEG with 5+ years technical writing experience in manufacturing setting or equivalent writing experience

PPE:

  • Safety boots (must provide full ankle coverage) - reimbursable
  • Standard issue safety glasses and hearing protection will be provided
  • Hardhat and safety vest will be provided for construction areas if required

Assignment has potential to be longer in length and/or successful candidate may be moved to another project

Manager Must Haves:

  • Ability to interact with Engineers
  • Strong framework to ask the right questions
  • Able to identify gaps based on experience

  • Will travel between Corning, NY and sites in North Carolina. Travel will be at least 50%. While not at these locations the expectation is that the worker is based out of Corning, NY. Travel to locations outside of Corning, NY will be reimbursable.
