WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Provide leadership for capital equipment & services and cross functional teams.
  • Responsible for the execution of purchasing efforts in support of projects for improving existing manufacturing process
  • Support the search and evaluation of vendors to produce new products
  • Lead in the development and deployment of capital equipment and service strategies
  • Track progress and adjust strategies to ensure continual improvement of total cost of ownership and vendor performance
  • Define, collaborate and execute negotiation strategy, schedule, and supplier selection criteria
  • Identify risks to both continuity of supply and cost, develop and execute risk mitigation plans.
  • Develop secondary sources of supply for key technology platforms
  • Maintain strong relationships with current and prospective vendors
  • Manage vendor performance, seek and develop new vendor partnerships, eliminate risks.
  • Work within SAP system to execute POs and manage requisitions

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • 5-7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or equivalent years of experience within mechanical/electrical engineering
  • Experience in project management with equipment purchasing and installation
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams or direct supervisory experience working in a matrix structured environment
  • Familiarity with PVC, LDPE, PS resins, Aluminum procurement or experience of extrusion, lamination processes, and ancillary equipment is desired. 
  • Preferred knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, etc. 
  • Preferred certification(s) like PMP, CPM, CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP
