WHERE THIS POSITION IS LOCATED:

  • Corning, NY

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Encompass the computer science discipline which involves technological and operating principles contained in all aspects of written computer data, such as programs or routines essential to the operation of computers, including operating systems, databases, compilers, computer networks, algorithms, and internet-related tools. 
  • Develop, design and/or modify software and computer systems. 
  • Develop processes to ensure quality of computer codes, lead software development projects, and manage the software development lifecycle. 
  • Write code that implements numerical solutions to equations describing product performance and processes, and develop and implement techniques that make codes easy to use and consistent across platforms and the network. 
  • Implement standard procedures and proposes intermediate level modifications to improve workflow. 

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • BS, Computer Science or any IT relevant Degree required.
  • 3+ Years in any relevant IT area required.
  • Experience/training with Linux required; prefer High Performance Computing (HPC) experience/training. 
  • Intermediate level technical understanding. 
  • Able to train new employees to established procedures.
