WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports
  • Liaise with outside auditors/tax preparers
  • Assist property managers with analyzing expenses, recording monthly accrual adjustments, and reviewing reconciliations as necessary
  • Prepare bank reconciliations monthly and maintains up to date and accurate cash balances for all property bank accounts
  • Prepare and maintain fixed asset depreciation/amortization schedules
  • Calculate and record straight-line rent and other GAAP adjustments
  • Organize and monitor losing calendar for assigned portfolio and ensure closing deadlines are communicated and met
  • Ensure all journal entries are accurately recorded and properly supported

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience required
  • Able to work well independently under pressure in a fast-paced environment and exercise sound judgement and discretion
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
