WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Develop a deep understanding by analyzing user workflows to arrive at a clear vision of needs to optimize the user experience.
  • Define current state and develop future state system as well as business process/data flows.
  • Facilitate requirement gathering sessions with business partners.
  • Document functional requirements, defining scope and project objectives to align with overall business objectives and strategies.
  • Partner with the technical lead and development team to ensure delivery meets business requirements.
  • Perform testing and coordinate with the users on the execution of user acceptance testing.
  • Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases on a periodic basis through sprints.
  • Provide updates and raise risks/issues to the project manager as needed.
  • Serves as initial point of escalation for post-deployment processing and operational issues.
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required.
  • Research and introduce new emerging technologies.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Strong academic credentials. An undergraduate degree is required. A post-graduate degree or relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA), or progress towards one, would be viewed favorably.
  • A minimum of total 12+ years of experience in application development in a full SDLC environment for a financial services firm, with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in designing and implementing solutions.
  • A thorough familiarity with various equity and fixed income instruments, their calculations and data requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

Experience working with large scale Data Warehousing / Data Lake.

  • Solid technology background, including an understanding of applications used in financial services.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) with senior leaders and peers, facilitation, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Responsive and proactive in answering questions.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Familiarity with Tableau, OBIEE or other reporting tools.
    • Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.
    • Broad knowledge of Investment Management industry operations, and market data providers.
