WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

This position requires attention to details, precise measurements and accurate reporting. Products vary from mechanical to electrical, components to full assemblies, surface finish, GD&T, and special processes. Documents supporting the implementation of the requirements and the ability to research the correct specifications to ensure acceptability of products entering the facility.

  • Responsible for performing receiving and occasionally final inspections of electrical and mechanical components, assemblies, and subassemblies of fiber optic and copper components. These products are used in military and government applications.
  • Must be able to ensure compliance to applicable specifications and customer contract requirements.
  • Aid in Supplier Source
  • Aiding in the resolution of product quality issues with engineering, manufacturing, etc..
  • Receiving Inspection activities including mechanical, electrical and surface finish (plating, anodizing, painting).
  • Final Inspection activities to prints and Specifications and all applicable customer quality requirements.
  • Support the site in AS 9100 assessment audits and Internal Audits
  • Other tasks that may arise in the department.

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED: 

  • Quality Control or Production related experience with Fiber Optic or copper cables preferred.
  • Experience inspecting products used in military and government applications
  • Proficient in GD&T measuring techniques - required!
  • Ability to read blueprints - required!
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
  • Hands on mechanical skills and competence using mechanical and fiber optic measuring tools preferred
  • Attention to Detail and Cleanliness
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 35 lbs.
  • Fluent writing, reading and understanding English.
  • Ability to interpret and understand drawings and/or customer specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Experience working within an AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Environment REQUIRED
