WHERE THIS POSITION IS LOCATED:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • The Quality Manager is responsible for directing the plant Quality Assurance system and establishing an effective Quality Management System (QMS), and championing continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives in a team-based environment.  
  • Initiate and implement quality improvement activities to raise the performance of the Business unit’s product lines, educate and train employees as to their impact on the quality management system, and provide strategic direction and leadership for quality systems implementation for the facility. 
  • Lead and direct the Quality Assurance functions with a focus on continuous improvement and harmonizing quality systems.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.  Investigate and direct the response to customer and consumer complaints.
  • Coordinate the PPM metric for reducing credits as a percentage of sales.
  • Ensure the implementation of Quality Assurance systems to ensure that WIP and finished goods specifications are met and that product shipped to customers is within specification.  Coordinate ongoing activities to ensure that specifications represent fitness-for-use and are sufficient to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in process / product development projects representing quality assurance and the customer.
  • Develop, implement and document standard operating procedures and conditions for process control, process improvement, testing, inspection and positive release practices.
  • Establish and implement metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system.

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:

  • B.S. Degree, preferably in a technical field like
  • 5+ years of experience of relevant work experience in QA systems implementation and management in a medium size manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt preferred)
  • Customer insight and focus.  In depth knowledge of Quality Systems and implementation
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to facilitate and influence direction
  • Ability to motivate teams and lead change at all levels of the organization
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
