WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Develop and communicate the differentiated value proposition for existing products and solutions  
  • Develop and present the business case for new projects, new and evolved products, product families and technologies for existing and new customers in domestic and international markets
  • Consolidate the business plan using inputs from the cross functional team to answer the why, establish the capital requirements, timing, preliminary costs and recommendations
  • Develop strategies to incorporate strategic raw material sourcing into product development process 
  • Play a key role in helping Engineering in a coordinated fashion to address the key product performance needs and benchmarking competitive offerings 
  • Assist in identifying, pursuing and supporting new market opportunities in global market segments
  • Create pricing schedules according to market requirements and cost targets
  • Create further reach within the targeted market sectors and assist in identifying new customers outside of the current customer group 
  • Facilitate all incoming RFQs and create/maintain customer contracts (including customer sourcing terms) as well as product development opportunities 
  • Screen opportunities for submission to APQP system

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • 4 year bachelors degree in engineering or business; MBA is a plus
  • 8+ years of demonstrated success in the industrial manufacturing sector
  • Strong knowledge of commercial activities, engineering, product development and Lean manufacturing processes
  • Creating and leading initiatives which improve current management practices and new market development
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • An ability to balance multiple priorities and allocate resources
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Creative problem solving skills with a can-do attitude
