WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Develop and maintain system deployment automation processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor their applications
  • Build, configure and manage tools for fast and reliable deployments of software utilize CI/CD pipelines
  • Integrate infrastructure monitoring documenting Level 1, 2, 3 support criteria/responsibilities.
  • Identify repeatable issues and design solutions to mitigate resolve any issues while running in production
  • Plan, install and test new software releases, server automation, system upgrades, and resolve software related problems for both development and production enterprise systems
  • Support multiple projects by troubleshooting application issues and assisting developers on infrastructure related issues
  • Write automation code as required supporting self-services for infrastructure and development teams, and help craft the direction and architecture of our systems
  • Create, update, and maintain documentation for procedures & policies as defined
  • Proactively detect problems related to Infrastructure services, operations and delivery services, conduct diagnostics, and provide service
  • Support and facilitate incident and problem management as required
  • Collaborate and assist other infrastructure teams and development staff with application analysis, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Perform change management, configuration, design, and implementation of supported products and systems
  • Assist QA teams during load testing and for real time monitoring of all stages of application deployment
  • Provide hands-on service and infrastructure operations support to internal and external customers in accordance with the terms of the established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Assess and evaluate opportunities for efficiencies designed to enhance productivity and reduce cost
  • Drive adoption of our services across infrastructure and development teams. Establish feedback loop ensuring consumption aligns with stated objectives.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Knowledge of enterprise level applications such as Oracle Webcenter Sites
  • Complete understanding of web application components and dependencies operating in an n-tier structure
  • Ability to write Infrastructure automation code using Ansible, terraform, Yaml Python or GoLang.
  • Experience migrating applications from VM(s) to containers or cloud
  • Knowledge of cloud native technology (benefits and cons) use cases
  • Working knowledge of container orchestration software (i.e. Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Ability to execute on technology needs and integrate with the overall enterprise technology strategy
  • Engineer and implement Middleware frameworks to build common reusable components for core applications utilizing the Middleware service
  • Engineer & integrate monitoring/administration technologies that
  • proactively alert on Application system performance, identify/resolve issues before they become service-impacting events
  • Collaborate and provide guidance to application development teams & infrastructure teams to ensure they are kept current on Middleware technology developments, best practices, and new initiatives
  • Develop & maintain strong partnership with Application development organizations to ensure alignment to Application design strategies that meet key business requirements.
