WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Support the Engineering Department’s objectives with regards to design requirements of NPD and current manufacturing processes
  • Utilize design, BOMs & Routings, analysis, coordination of
    work efforts and assigned tasks regarding the implementation of a new program into full manufacturing.
  • Solve material & process related issues through existing methods or by developing new methods.
  • Interface with Facilities Engineer, Electrical Engineer, technical department, production leaders and engineering staff to determine and implement capital projects
  • Develop and conduct research studies regarding process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Participate in critical equipment design and performance reviews
  • Manage and design mechanical engineering projects with emphasis on safety and process optimization
  • Determine test procedures, manpower requirements, equipment, tooling, schedules, and overall cost
  • Estimates, tracks and reports costs of capital projects to facilitate cost / benefit analysis.
  • Ensures that capital projects are managed so that they are delivered on time and within budget
  • Preparation of detailed design AutoCAD drawings and P&ID’s

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent computer skills with general knowledge of computer systems
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and drafting standards.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and MS Project.
  • Strong understanding of drawings and technical specifications
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal
  • working knowledge of PLCs and control systems
