WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Create¬†capital expenditure budget based on project schedules and manage expenditures from inception to implementation
  • Provide leadership in support of heat treat process compliance
  • Provide support to operations and maintenance functions as well as develop & guide resources to address existing needs and ongoing growth requirements
  • Drive the development of new thermal process control strategies
  • Establish and ensure appropriate process control standards and specifications are being met for all operating furnaces
  • Responsible for the execution and data analysis of all furnace temperature uniformity surveys, furnace tuning, system accuracy tests, gas analyses, and other CQI9 activities
  • Ensure safe working environment for all existing and new machinery
  • Active involvement with heat treatment evaluation and examination. Assist with failure analysis and root cause determination as well as implement countermeasures
  • Provide continuous improvement of existing processes in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Develop heat treatment recipes for new products

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Materials Science
  • 5 years experience in a Heat Treat or metals related engineering position
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications and a basic understanding of CAD
  • Experience in heat treat processes, CQI9, IATF 16949, AMS2750 Pyrometry
  • Capable of troubleshooting and supporting all heat treat processing throughout the organization based on actual field or engineering experience
  • Organizational and communication skills in English
