WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Maintenance support of pneumatic, electrical and mechanical Assembly Department fixtures, work stations, and supporting equipment, etc.
  • Manage the Preventive Maintenance Program to ensure continuous and safe operation of all tools and equipment.
  • Manage driver maintenance and calibration program.
  • Manage sewing machine set up and maintenance.
  • Maintain compressed air systems; maintenance, parts and components.
  • Work with equipment vendors on new equipment requirements.
  • Maintain shrink wrap systems, repair and maintenance.
  • Maintain cardboard baler, repair and maintenance.
  • Support the Continuous Improvement initiatives in areas of single piece flow, 5S, quick changeover, line balancing, etc.
  • Maintain repair logs for all assembly fixtures and equipment.
  • Maintain data file for all PM and Calibration requirements.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • 5 years demonstrated experience in technical trade (electrical, fabrication, welding, etc.) preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read blue prints, manufacturer’s work instructions, specifications to ensure proper operation of purchased equipment 
  • Capable of designing and fabricating mechanical/electrical fixtures and secondary equipment that support the assembly operation
  • Understand PLC programming/troubleshooting and relay logic
  • Verbal and written communication skills to work with production associates in the form of training, and gathering input to implement changes on assembly lines
