LOCATION

  • Redwood City, CA (just south of San Francisco)

MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Oversee overall game animation; management and staffing of full animation team
  • Provide day-to-day task management, creative direction, and inspiration to the animation team to achieve the Creative Director's vision.
  • Plan schedules, commit to deliverables and manage animation team to achieve goals within regular milestones and deadlines.
  • Ensure an open communication flow between animation team and team at large.
  • Continually refine processes for animation production to increase productivity for the animation team; stay current on industry trends in animation, rigging, modeling, texturing.

SHOW US YOUR SKILLS

  • 7+ years’ experience in character animation for games.
  • 2+ years as a Lead or Senior with management responsibilities; training, hiring, reviews, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of traditional animation; Ability to work in a range of styles, from humorous/cartoony to hyper-realistic, and can maintain the appropriate style over the course of a project.
  • Understanding of all areas of character creation (mesh, texturing, skinning, IK).
  • Able to document art process and track tasks throughout game development cycle.
  • Good communication skills and ability to manage stressful situations; Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
  • Ability to work with strict deadlines and to precisely quantify volumes of work

BONUS POINTS

  • Proficiency in Maya a HUGE plus.
  • Knowledge of 3DSMAX a plus.
  • Knowledge of MEL scripting a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of cinematography a plus

SIDE NOTE: Though this is an animation position, this team values well-rounded artists. A portfolio that shows strong character drawing, meshing and texturing skills, along with knock-out animation will be fully appreciated.
