WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

The Enterprise Architect spends 50% of their time supporting project teams implementing application and infrastructure change projects globally and 50% of their time working with the IT Architecture team in the creation of roadmaps, standards and future state architectures.

The Enterprise Architect works closely with Application Architects, Hosting Architects, Network Architects, End User Compute Architects and the business in order to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective solutions and new technologies for managing change.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities of this position are related to the architecture and delivery of solutions and standards in the IT Enterprise Architecture Function. Some of the specific responsibilities of this role include:

• Develop strategies, roadmaps and standards

• Provide architectural consulting to programs, projects and initiatives.

• Design and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures.

• Develop logical, conceptual and physical architectural models.

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of strategic business plans.

• Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies to project teams.

• Gain organizational commitment for enterprise level architecture and initiatives.

• Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations.

• Support business and IT strategic planning.

• Develop, communicate and deploy Enterprise Architecture Governance processes.

• Review new and existing program/project architecture for compliance with IT standards, policies and architectural plans.

• Maintain domain level documents in an Enterprise Architecture repository and tool set.

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience, Master’s preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE

7-10 years relevant work experience, with 3 - 5 years’ experience as an Enterprise or Senior Solution Architect.

REQUIRED SKILLS

The Enterprise Architect will be an overall effective manager, communicator, and leader. She/he will be able to conceptualize, plan, document and communicate effectively. The correct candidate will possess energy, develop value-added service definitions, and help lead change.

The successful candidate for this position will have the following experience and expertise:

• Knowledge and experience on application architecture, infrastructure architecture, development and integration.

• Very deep understanding of various business domains (e.g. Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales and Supply-chain)

• Provide leadership in design and implementation of solutions, strategies and technologies.

• Architect level knowledge and hands-on experience with some combination of storage, compute, cloud, and virtualization technologies

• Good understanding of Virtualization technologies such as VMware

• Clear thinker who anticipates and develops strategies for anticipated future consequences and trends on both application and infrastructure areas.

• Good understanding of the new architecture patterns, like Micro-services for applications.

• Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers

• Works collaboratively with multiple levels to develop innovative or creative solutions that work effectively

• Copes with change and decides well without having the total picture
