WHERE THIS POSITION IS LOCATED:

  • Wilmington, NC

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Ownership of production equipment control systems 
• Development of new products and processes 
• Process improvement projects with emphasis on lean manufacturing 
• Capital projects with focus on maintenance of business or cost reduction 

• Primary responsibility will be to support and develop manufacturing process control systems and user interfaces

• Assist team of engineers to provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing • operation

• Work with production associates, technicians, and engineers to ensure reliable equipment operation via automated control systems and user interfaces
• Support process and product optimization/improvement efforts. Develop plans for innovative solutions to technical problems and follow through to implementation
• Provide training for engineers and/or production associates as needed for new processes, equipment, or control systems
• Lead or participate in capital projects
• Serve on weekend production support team approximately every 5-6 weeks

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:

• B.S. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science 
• Looking for 2-5 years, looking for junior level engineer 

• Technical background in an Engineering or Computer Science Discipline 
• Strong computer programming skills desired (Visual Basic, MS Windows, iFIX/SCADA, VB.Net, MS Word, Excel, Access, or equivalent). 
• Ability/experience integrating computers into manufacturing processes to increase efficiencies and lower cost. 
• Ability/experience troubleshooting simple low voltage electrical circuitry

• Able to communicate equally well with engineers, production associates, and managers 
• Able to work in a team-oriented environment 
• Self motivated 
• Ability to multi-task
