WHERE THIS POSITION IS LOCATED:

  • Christianburg, VA

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Encompass the use of integrated systems for computer-aided design used for the systematic representation and dimensional specification of mechanical and architectural structures
  • Prepare drawings or schematics for mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, equipment and structures
  • Utilize CAD digitizing techniques and skills
  • Digitize and edit integrated circuit drawings consisting of components and/or assemblies
  • Make engineering computations and prepares and revises specifications
  • Handle large assembly models/drawings; component design; tabulated drawings; welded assembly models/drawings; sheet metal assembly models/drawings
  • Incorporate vendor drawings into pre-existing CAD storage system
  • Document editing
  • Spare part research and purchasing
  • Process improvement initiatives
  • Work under limited site supervision
  • Coordinate other activities beyond routine tasks
  • Recommend process improvements, meet or exceed deadlines, and able to maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance
  • Contact outside of immediate work group are frequent and broad

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:

  • Possess considerable technical and content knowledge of the job
  • Understand practical applications, able to solve complex problems, full mastery of regular situations encountered
  • Self-starter who can independently solve the vast majority of problems and ambiguities by examining pertinent facts and evidence
  • AAS required
  • 7+ years of experience with an AAS in CAD
  • 10+ years of experience with an AAS in CAD-related concentrations
  • Candidate must be able to hit the ground running (little to no training will be provided)
  • Candidate must have good decisions making skills and the ability to direct own work
  • Experience with Solidworks and Auto-CAD
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize
