WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:  The objective of this role is to develop the Supply Chain Team. This position is accountable for managing all aspects of material planning, material flow and maintaining control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including all transactions procurement, planning, scheduling, cost, warehouse, receiving, and shipping. Additionally to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled on time to 100% "OTD" with $0 Past Due. This position will coordinate the interface with the Distribution Center ("DC") and optimize the total cost of logistics inbound and outbound. This position is also responsible to support and/or develop and manage all supplier relationships and developmental plans

  • Develop the people, team, processes, and systems for materials management and manufacturing, creating the capability and environment for best in class On Time Delivery, Inventory Turns, Inventory Accuracy, and materials system efficiency.
  • Responsible for overseeing the inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for appropriate inventory levels, eliminating obsolete and off-spec material, and reduce aging material
  • Develop methods and procedures for scheduling of raw materials from suppliers to support manufacturing in achieving customer demand and minimizing cost
  • Develop and maintain the transportation system on domestic and international freight that ensures business needs are met
  • Develop appropriate internal material flow, storage, breakdown, and other elements to improve the efficiency of product flow utilizing a formal "Production Planning Process" (3P events). This includes, but is not limited to, the development of "supermarkets" and tugger delivery processes.
  • Develop and implement the appropriate scheduling and production authorization and reporting mechanisms, such as KAN BAN/Heijunka and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Develop, implement, and lead Sales & Operations Planning, Master Production Planning, and Rough Cut Capacity Planning Process. (S&OP, MPS, RCCP respectively)
  • Create, manage and achieve the overall logistics budgets
  • Ensure Company complies with laws and regulations regarding transportation, including hazardous materials. Resolve any legal issues pertaining to transportation/distribution
  • Ensure Logistics Department complies with ISO requirements
  • Maintain receiving, warehousing and shipping operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Directly supervise the supply chain function
  • Other responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, mentoring employees, and maintaining harmony among employees
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.

  • Mastery of a top tier ERP system with detailed knowledge of planning parameters

  • BS degree in business, management or other related discipline. Masters in related field a plus.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in management of materials and sourcing within a design and manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in total quality, six sigma, or other similar environments.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills.
  • APICS certification and evidence of on-going conceptual education
