WHY THIS ROLE IMPORANT:

  • Responsible for all organizational communications and branding, public relations, social media, content creation, and event support
  • Collaborate to develop communications strategies that will broaden the organization’s reach and impact
  • Develop and refine “core” messages to ensure organizational consistency
  • Identify significant media and public policy issues and implement communication plans to address them
  • Serve as executive editor of all print and online communications
  • Create communication processes, tools, and templates designed to simplify and streamline communication activities
  • Develop and implement social media strategy
  • Help execute events by assisting with messaging, communication, and promotion
  • Provide reports on metrics and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing new initiatives

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or another related field
  • 3–5 years’ experience managing communications or public relations experience developing, implementing and measuring communications plans and programs
  • Experience using Constant Contact, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite and other related software
    Nonprofit experience preferred
  • Prior experience managing a team and collaborating cross functionally
