WHY THE ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Responsible for the balancing of weekly and biweekly payroll runs to general ledger accounting system.
  • Create weekly journal entries for net pay and tax withholdings, and the uploading of journal entries to be reviewed and posted by the Tax Compliance Manager.
  • Provide assistant to the Payroll Manager with the balancing of garnishments and union due payments. 
  • Analyzes, determines and recommends resolutions for problems with internal interfaces and feeds into and out of existing the payroll system.
  • Work on payroll projects and provide support to the Payroll Management team.
  • Provides training and communication of any updates to new and existing departmental accounting processes and implementation of new procedures.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree required
  • Past experience using SAP software
  • Understanding of payroll state regulations
