WHERE THIS POSITION IS LOCATED:

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Support development of and enhancements to BI reporting and data warehouse applications in a team setting and standardized processes
  • Support solution development / maintenance using diverse technology stack including Microsoft BI (SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Power BI), Informix, Oracle, WhereScape
  • Provide reliable estimates of work effort and schedule durations for new projects
  • Lead design of new solutions and product enhancements that leverage industry standard design patterns and are clearly documented and communicated to other team members
  • Provide production support as-needed including incident and service request resolutions
  • Maintain secure solution development work environment including safe storage of all development artifacts such as source code, technical documentation and any other business artifacts

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related technical field, or certification in software engineering from ACM or IEEE generally required. Leadership and project management training are beneficial. Will consider any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software solutions development preferably in medium to large corporate environments or commercial software companies.
  • Experience with rapid programming, agile development, software patterning, and refactoring techniques.
  • Strong experience providing end-user and production support to a diverse user base of direct users and partner IT organizations.
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience of the core Microsoft BI based solution platform
  • Strong experience in relational database development and support including data modeling, normalization and performance optimization.
  • Strong experience developing, maintaining, and debugging SQL Server 2012 and above
  • Strong understanding of SQL Server 2012+ ETL SSIS component and ability to develop and maintain solutions
  • Strong experience developing / maintain complex SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports and dashboards
  • Strong experience with scheduling tools such as Windows Scheduler, SQL Server Scheduler, etc.
  • Strong experience with the industry standard IDEs including Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio
  • Strong experience with fundamental business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and industry best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in technical settings and with internal management.
  • Solid knowledge of IT software development life cycle methodologies and processes.
