WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Partnering with IT and Business Unit leadership, to develop strategic communications plans for the department to support:
  • Employee connection with company, RST and departmental goals and objectives
  • Business Partner awareness of Solution Deliverables, by building out Enterprise Technical Solutions and evolve into a business consumable story
  • Local and department-wide employee engagement activities
  • Responsible for executing tactical elements of the communications plans as well as the development/maintenance of process, procedure and plan updates on Knowledge Exchange
  • Developing content and executing on tactical elements of the plan including memos, presentations, newsletters, Culture Engagement, town halls, award write ups, speech writing, multi-media production and intranet/SharePoint site management
  • Representing RST on cross-functional initiatives requiring coordinated communications with Business and IT partners
  • Developing a framework, building, creating and maintaining content for RSTs SharePoint & Confluence sites
  • Managing an annual rewards and recognition program for RST, including budget development and management, and award criteria development related to scorecard and business objectives
  • Developing presentations for executive and senior leadership in support of RSTs strategies and objectives
  • Resolving issues for internal customers and the team. Taking initiative and conducting follow-up to ensure issues are resolved in a satisfactory and timely manner consistent with all company polices and expectations. Able to navigate and negotiate through sensitive and complex issues. Demonstrating strategic thinking when pursuing issue resolution and end objectives

Job Complexity:

  • Create and execute communications plans in support of RST and Institutional Business areas to increase employee understanding of and confidence in the company's strategy
  • Be in possession of an inquisitive mind to evolve the understanding and build out the compelling story
  • Equip and empower employees to tell the company's story (including our brand evolution, financial well-being, technology advancement and our future)
  • Increase employee perception as a great place to work (employer of choice)
  • Provide communications and change management support to enable the success of the company's major transformation efforts
  • Deepen employees engagement and effectiveness as brand ambassadors by focusing on employees as participants
  • Able to translate Technical Strategy and Technical Designs into business ready presentations

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • 5+ years of corporate communications experience, or related work experience in financial services required
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, English or related area of study required

Skills Preferred:

  • Web and graphic design capabilities encompassing graphic, experience, multimedia, event, UX, data/information architecture
  • Proven track record of Design Thinking
  • Experience developing online content and knowledge of web-based content management systems
  • Demonstrated analytical and strategic plan development skills
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills, and the ability to draft high-quality original content with confidence
  • Excellent verbal presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in an environment of ongoing change, re-prioritization and reorganization
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to interact with senior leadership
  • Familiarity with AP Style highly preferred
  • Project management capabilities
