WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Assist in the month end closing process.  Prepare, calculate, enter, and post journal entries as directed.
  • Prepare and analyze account reconciliations including cash, accounts receivable, prepaid assets, inventory, fixed assets, accrued liabilities and short term and long- term debt.
  • Ability to understand and interpret standard GAAP financial statements, specifically a standard balance sheet and income statement and, understand the interrelationship between statements.
  • Maintain appropriate files to prepare and submit IRS forms 1099 and 1096.
  • Perform other accounting, finance and administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Accounting.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3-5 years demonstrated accounting experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving experience and knowledge of basic accounting principles, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience coding invoices according to a standard chart of accounts.
