WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Inspect and evaluate parts and materials at incoming inspection including: Machined parts, Molded plastic parts, Printed circuit boards, (both populated and unpopulated), Cables / wires, Passive electronic components (resistors, capacitors, etc.), Active electronic components (transistors, PLD's, memory, processors, etc.), Adhesives, solvents, and other chemicals, Finished assemblies (company products), Printed literature (User Guides, packaging materials)
  • Use gauges and other devices to verify conformity of product to specifications, including: measurement and verification of mechanical dimensions to specified tolerances including length, width, and thickness; verification of weight; verification of proper material; verification of proper finish/coating; checking for irregularities and defects including color variances, blemishes, tainting, roughness on surface finishes, scratches, dents, chips, and other physical imperfections; testing for continuity of conductors; inspecting for missing or improperly placed components on circuit boards; checking for proper markings on circuit boards and electronic components; assessing workmanship of circuit board assemblies to IPC 610 standard; and functional test of assemblies in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Document inspection results/create inspection records using paper forms (such as inspection, process, calibration records, time sheets etc…) or electronic data entry.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive description of nonconforming items.
  • Utilize MRP system to affect transactions relating to material movement.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.
  • Provides ongoing feedback to engineering, quality, manufacturing departments about quality issues.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Knowledgeable of and ability to use hand-held gauges such as micrometers, calipers, Go/No-go thread plug gauges.
  • Understanding of Auditing processes
  • Ability to comprehend procedures and technical document.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One or more years working in a quality related position preferred.
