  • Remote based out of Charlotte, NC


  • This position will provide capital project controls services, focusing on improving forecast accuracy for Capital Projects and Programs.
  • This position will work closely with Project & Program Managers to ensure forecast accuracy with a goal of +/-10%.
  • This is a highly analytical position, which involves the compilation, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of complex information, with a focus on project and program financials.
  • This position also involves investigation and tracking of payment resolution for the Corporate Requisition to Pay process, working closely with the Business Controller, Procurement and Accounts Payable organizations.
  • Functional Expertise:
  • Serves as the Project Finance Analyst for medium or large scale capital programs and projects.
  • Ensures that required metrics are gathered and compiled, and prepares program reports, scorecards, and other presentations, while obtaining project management review and approval.
  • Driving Results:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive program forecast, including committed and spend by month. Forecast accuracy provides visibility to spend and progress month-month towards delivering to the Annual Operating Plan. Data is utilized to track overall spend, alignment with the annual budget, business & corporate reporting and requests for additional funding.
  • On a monthly basis, participate in the accounting close to include preparing and submitting accruals & journal entries.
  • On a monthly basis, update project & program forecasts with project financials from ERP Systems.
  • On a monthly basis, conduct detailed financial review with Program and Project Manager to include analysis and review of actuals, development of variances from plan (both month and year-to-date), re-forecast of remaining months and communication of risks, opportunities and impact to schedule.
  • Provide project information and analytics to support internal audits, commission audits, etc.
  • Create project related presentations and reports (e.g. dashboards/scorecards, gate reviews, etc.)
  • Perform other activities, as required, to support the successful execution of assigned projects and/or to improve processes related to managing and controlling projects


  •  Degree in Finance, Accounting, Project Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 2 - 4 years finance, accounting, project controls, or related position
  • 2 years project controls, finance accounting or cost controls position, for medium engineering and construction projects
  •  Specific Skills & Knowledge: SAP and/or PeopleSoft Finance
  • MS Excel - advanced proficiency
  • Project cost controls concepts - intermediate proficiency Accounting concepts - intermediate proficiency
  • Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Ability to support multiple projects and resources, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Familiarity of Project Financial Business Case deliverables (PV/I, Financial Analysis)
