WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- Responsible for hands on configuration, installation, maintenance and support of the entire company enterprise network. The enterprise network consists of the following segments: (Datacenter networks, Internet Edge networks, Campus and Plants networks, WAN networks, Voice networks, Wireless Networks)
- Configuration, installation, maintenance and support of network security solutions and platforms, such as Firewalls, Content Filters, and IPS appliances, in accordance with best practices and company policies
- Configuration, installation, maintenance and support of network access control (NAC) tools.
- Maintaining network monitoring systems, alerting, and escalation procedures.
- Work with Managed Service Partners for escalation and resolution.
- Ticket management, documentation and resolution.
- Providing technical support to various customers and departments/users.
- Acting as an escalation point for network-related issues.
- Reviewing anomalies that are broad and potentially service impacting.
- Researching, evaluating and recommending hardware and software solutions which include upgrades, patches, new applications and equipment.
- Keeping abreast of new design tools, hardware, software, and technology and make recommendations for future deployment.
- Provide documentation/project tracking and management reporting. Provides tactical and strategic input on overall network planning and related projects.
- Review, plan, and evaluate network systems which includes troubleshooting network performance issues.
- Assist in creation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans focused on network resiliency and recoverability.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Education: Minimal bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science
- Must have 10+ years’ experience in IT Infrastructure and Support
- Multiple Industry certifications, in current standing. Cisco CCNA or greater preferred
- 10+ years of network experience.
- Expert Cisco configuration and troubleshooting skills across multiple platforms including: Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, Cisco Viptela, and Cisco wireless solutions.
- Experience with Cisco Datacenter routing and switching technologies is required.
- Experience with Firewalls is required. Checkpoint and Zscaler is preferred.
- Experience with Intrusion Prevention/Detection solutions is preferred.
- Experience with DNS is required
- Experience with WAN technologies such as MPLS, PT-2-PT.
- Sound knowledge of routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, OSPF.
- Expert Cisco configuration and troubleshooting skills across multiple platforms including: Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, and wireless solutions.
- Experience with F5 load balancer preferred
- Experience in VoIP applications preferred
- Experience using service desk management systems – Service Now preferred
- Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
