WHERE THE POSITION IS LOCATED:

  • Shorthills, NJ

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Responsible for working across all levels of the business, with emphasis on providing expert network infrastructure support to IT management and users.
  • Responsible for setting technical solutions for network deployments that use our network security infrastructure or cloud-based connectivity models.
  • Define, measure and analyze key metrics to assess overall effectiveness of LAN/WAN network performance, capacity, and associated monitoring. Manage network implementations, configuration, and routing changes, and performs equipment upgrades.
  • Adheres to and supports changes, incidents, and problem management ITIL processes. Proactively identifies, recommends, and champions emerging technologies, monitoring solutions, and processes that will enhance the end user experience that can be supported by Technology. Can effectively communicate and interact with internal users, vendors, and customers. Uses problem management techniques to solve difficult technical problems.
  • Define network requirements, establish architecture and detail designs and standards that meet business goals.
  • Effectively manage and support LAN/WAN network implementations and configurations, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Wireless, Voice and Video solutions.
  • Perform root cause analysis and problem resolutions, provide recommendations, build consensus and execute solutions.
  • Recommend appropriate course of action to network infrastructure engineers, NOC, MSPs, and IT management on technical and operations issues.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • 5+ years experience in related areas
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline preferred
  • Relevant networking certifications such as CCNA or CCNP.
  • Expert knowledge of network infrastructures, networking protocols, standards and associated configurations, VPN access, Firewalls, Proxies and other security appliances and solutions.
  • Must be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of Cisco routers, switches including BGP, HSRP/GLBP, Multi VRF, MPLS, TCP/IP, Cisco Wireless (WLC & ISE).
  • Experience with deployment and management of Amazon Web Services (AWS) VPCs and Direct Connect.
  • Strong knowledge of business environment, network and security infrastructures and supported services.
  • The ability to manage day-to-day incidents and follow through to problem resolutions.
  • Strong problem management skills, including the ability to identify and asses the risks and determine the corrective actions.
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others by developing and presenting ideas & recommendations.
  • May be asked to participate in a support rotation schedule including weekends to provide after-hours support.
