WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • The IT Communications and Mobility Engineer is responsible for the creation and deployment of collaboration solutions through engagement with technology developers and cloud service providers for the enablement of reliable and encompassing voice, video and mobility solutions to a global organization.
  • Provides expert level technical support for communication platforms, including CallManager, Unity Connections, voice circuits including PRIs and SIP Trunks and mobility solutions.
  • Understanding of network topology.
  • Performs routine monitoring and tuning of alerts to assure consistent, reliable operation of the global voice platforms.
  • Performs routine administrative/operational tasks, as necessary, to assure the reliable operation of the global telephony solution.
  • Works closely with Information Technology peers and service providers in joint effort to ensure that the needs and expectations of organization are met and/or exceeded.
  • Transfers knowledge via documentation and training to Information Technology resources.
  • Assists with vendor management.
  • Monitors trends in service quality.
  • Assesses and evaluate new market opportunities for the service and associated technologies.
  • Aligns and educates stakeholders on current and planned changes to the service.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Bachelors required, MBA plus
  • 5 -10 Years in Cisco telephony solutions and mobility technologies
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate and present to senior levels of the organization
  • Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities
  • Experience with Cisco Call Manager, Unity Connections
  • Experience High level knowledge of SIP and RTP
  • Understanding of TCP/IP network protocols, vlans, IP routing and QoS
  • Experience with CISCO IOS
  • Experience with Cisco wireless technologies and equipment
  • Experience with DNS and DHCP concepts
  • Ability to work with international teams across multiple initiatives that span various lines of business, geographic borders, time zones, and cultures
  • Ability to stay current with technology and trends
  • Familiarity with Mobile security and cellular device support of IOS and Android
  • Experience with MDM solutions e.g MobileIron
  • Experience in managing metrics with a solid understanding of SLAs
  • Some familiarity with video streaming services such as QUMU, JAM
  • Familiarity with protocol analyzers and packet capture analysis
