WHERE THIS POSITION IS LOCATED:

  • Winston-Salem, NC

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Assists Plant Controller with the monthly financial closing and reporting, analysis of actual results, and short-term and long-term forecasting 
  • Responsible for managing the period closing process; including preparation and posting of journal entries, ensuring accuracy of the general ledger, entity compliance with local regulations, GAAP accounting principles and the company’s policies and procedures, on a timely basis 
  • Prepare quarterly SEC & Tax reporting package, support account reconciliations 
  • Provides ad-hoc financial analysis for plant controller and staff 
  • Assists Plant Controller with preparation of the annual budget 
  • Responsible for monthly account reconciliations 
  • Assists Plant Controller with monitoring and reporting financial performance to division management and plant management. Highlights variances that need corrective action 
  • Monitors spending and works with department managers to control costs. Researches and provides detail on expense variances 
  • Drives finance process improvement 
  • Provides financial analysis related to capital projects, cost reduction, and other initiatives as required Analytical Support
  • Prepare financial presentations for Plant Leadership 
  • Validate financial results within Plant and confirm these to corporate 
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for both corporate and plant 

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration 
  • 1-3 years relevant experience; Must have Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience  
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Excel / PowerPoint, general ledger systems & forecasting tools 
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and link to business implications 
  • Good analytical skills, presentation skills and problem-solving capability

Desired Skills: 

  • MS Access proficiency
  • Working experience with Khalix and/or SAP BPC 
  • Working experience with PeopleSoft and/or SAP preferred.
