WHERE THE POSITION IS LOCATED:

  • Reston, VA

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Perform Ad-hoc Analyses – process improvements, descriptive statistics and visualizations, and implement general analytic techniques.
  • Collaborate with a team of data scientists to develop solutions for the business needs of government agencies.
  • Leverage big data and modern analytic techniques to develop creative solutions for complex business problems.
  • Engage clients with colleagues to identify their business needs and develop, implement, and manage solutions
  • Participate in all aspects of a modeling engagement, including design, development, validation, calibration, documentation, approval, implementation, monitoring, and reporting
  • Strong SAS programming skills with an ability to apply common procedures and data manipulations, write macro functions and learn new procedures when necessary

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Undergrad degree in a Risk related field (Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Math/Stat, Operations Research, etc.) with 1 to 3 years of applicable experience
  • Strong programming skills with the ability to conduct research utilizing R, and Python to manipulate data and conduct statistical analysis
  • Strong SQL skills and experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to both a technical and non-technical audience
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with very large datasets
  • Experience working with outside clients on statistical engagements
  • Experience with graph databases and visualizations
